Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 1476
1811. Small 8 Overton-110a Rarity 1. NGC graded MS-65. Nicely toned and well struck. This coin is tied for the fourth finest of the variety according to Steve Herrman's Auction & Mail Bid Prices Realized for Bust Half Dollars 1794 - 1839 The toning is glorious and rich with old silver shades that offer deep jewel tones when examined under a light. The strike is sharp too, with all of Liberty's curls brought up well along with the eagle's tiny feathers. Early Capped Bust half dollars are seldom found in gem condition, and this offering is certainly something worthy of note.Pop 1; none finer at NGC for the variety.
Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,000.

1832. Small Letter. Overton-103, Rarity 1. NGC graded MS-65+. Evenly toned with golden russet shades and well struck. The preseravation on this particular coin is astounding, with undisturbed devices and fields, and the toning has an age old appearance that is wonderfully original and fresh. This one is arguably the third finest of the variety behind two MS-66 coins, which no doubt compare favorably to this remarkable specimen. An opportunity for the advanced Capped Bust half specialist! Pop 1; none finer at NGC for the variety.
Estimated Value $6,500 - 7,000.
